Erectile
dysfunction may signal severe heart disease
January 23, 2006
According to recently conducted
research, heart stress tests showed that more
than 40 percent of men with erectile dysfunction
had significant blockages in heart arteries.
The study of 221 men aged between 23 and 88
who went for the stress tests suggested that
erectile dysfunction may be a strong predictor
of severe heart-artery disease
Erectile dysfunction affects
more than half of American men aged between
40 and 70. The new study follows one reported
in December in the Journal of the American Medical
Association. That data linked impotence to a
27 percent higher risk of chest pain, heart
attack or stroke within seven years. Heart
disease is the cause of maximum deaths in
the U.S.
Erectile
dysfunction can be prevented with the help
of medications such as Cialis,
Viagra and Levitra.
