June 18, 2005
Almost every man
experiences Erectile Dysfunction (ED) at
some point in his life.
Erectile
dysfunction (ED) can be described as a total
inability to get an erection, an inconsistent
ability to keep an erection firm enough for
sexual
intercourse, or a tendency to maintain only
brief erections.
According to researchers, "Only
15 percent of the patients are willing to open
up. Men usually suffer with it for two to three
years before they see a doctor, and their relationships
and marriages suffer, which could lead to other
problems."
ED is known to be host of severe
illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, heart
disease, or even cancer. It affects about 60
per cent of diabetic men and 52 per cent of
them are between ages of 40 and 70.
ED could be caused due to Psychological
reasons - Fear, Stress, Worry, Anger, etc. -
or Physical reasons - smoking, alcohol intake,
or damages to the nerves or blood vessels that
control the penis.
With this problem being acknowledged
by the healthcare industry, many effective medical
treatments and medications have been developed
to rescue the male community.
The options now available include
ED pills - Viagra,
Cialis,
and Levitra - pumps, penile exercises, change
in lifestyles or sessions with the psychologist.
