Understanding
Female Sexual Dysfunction
May 06, 2005
Erectile Dysfunction, or male
impotence, has been getting widespread attention
and efforts from the pharmaceutical industry.
However, equally important aspect that has come
to the front lately is healthcare support for
female sexual dysfunction (FSD).
Whereas a male impotence can
be identified on a basis of defined parameters
– decreased libido, premature ejaculation,
ejaculatory failure, etc. – FSD cannot
be measured objectively.
FSD can be defined as the persistent
problems of low sexual desire, sexual arousal
disorder, orgasmic disorder, and sexual pain
disorder. Multiple factors are responsible such
as Cultural influences, experiences,
health
problems, medications, relationships, and
daily pressures for these disorders.
According to researchers, it
is the quality and love in the act of intercourse
that matters to women. The most important sex
organ in women is between the ears - the mind
- and not between the legs. A woman is more
contented with a step-by-step foreplay, sexual
intercourse and afterplay.
The researchers underline this
vital aspect of psychological satisfaction achieved
through sex to a woman, which when missing would
lead to any form of FSD.
