Woman charged with drug theft

A Montgomery woman is free on a $2,500 bond after being charged with stealing more than $7,000 worth of drugs from a Prattville pharmacy.

Vickeia Michelle Porter, 23, of 336 Pine Oak Court faces a theft of property charge, said Prattville Police Chief Alfred Wadsworth.

She worked at the Walgreens drug store at 703 S. Memorial Drive, police reports show.

Porter, who was arrested Wednesday, could not be reached for comment Thursday.

Walgreens employees declined to comment Thursday afternoon.

Reports show Porter stole hydrocodone and Lortab, powerful painkillers, and Cialis and Viagra, male impotency drugs.

The pharmacy contacted the Police Department when the drugs were discovered missing, Wadsworth said.
